Baitadi Kailali has won the title of the Far West Provincial Qualifier of the Prime Minister's Cup Men's One Day National Cricket Tournament. Kailali also defended the title by defeating Baitadi by 37 runs in the final match on Tuesday. Chasing the target of 280 runs for victory, Baitadi was reduced to 232 runs in 38 overs. In which Khadak Bohra and Naren Bhatt scored half-centuries but could not win the team. With Khadak 74 and Narine dismissed for 59 runs, their chances of winning the title were over. In Kailali's bowling, captain Narayan Joshi took 3 wickets, Sher Malla and Dharma Joshi took 2/2 wickets. Earlier, the 50-over match at Phapla Ground was reduced to 40 overs after starting late due to heavy rain. Kailali, who won the toss and batted, scored 279 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the scheduled 40 overs. Team captain Narayan Joshi scored 101 runs by playing a century innings. Similarly, Sher Malla played an innings of 50 runs. Khadak Bohra got 3 wickets and captain Vasant Khatri got 2 wickets in Baitadi's bowling. Narayan Khel was also selected as 'Man of the Match'. The Far West team for the Prime Minister's Cup national tournament will be announced from the players who performed best in this qualifying tournament.
