Kathmandu. Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane will be able to fight the case outside the jail. As Lamichhane was sentenced to less than 10 years, he will be able to appeal to the High Court while outside prison. As he was sentenced to eight years in prison, he got the opportunity to sit outside and appeal. In Section 137 of the Civil Criminal Procedure Code Act, 2074, there is a legal provision in which the defendant has the right to appeal to a higher court without being incarcerated in cases where the sentence is less than 6 to 10 years. To get this facility, Lamichhane will have to pay a fine and compensation of 5 lakhs and compensation of 5 lakhs and 300 rupees per day of imprisonment for 8 years, making a total of 887,000 rupees. In the rape case, the bench of District Judge Shishirraj Dhakal found Lamichhane guilty on the 13th of Paush. On Wednesday, the Dhaka court sentenced Lamichhane to 8 years.
