Kathmandu. The Winter Youth Olympics have started from Friday in Gangwon, South Korea. The competition started with a grand opening ceremony. South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol inaugurated the competition. This is the sixth edition of the Winter Youth Olympics. Two players from Nepal are participating in the tournament. Chowang Wingur Tamang on the men's side and Lakshmi Rai on the women's side are participating in it. Chowang carried the flag of Nepal in the march pass held at the opening ceremony. The competition will run until February 1. Both Chowang and Lakshmi of the Nepali team coached by Safalram Shrestha will participate in slalom and giant slalom. Earlier, they also participated in the 15-day special training program 'Dream Project'. This is Nepal's third participation in the Winter Youth Olympics. A total of 1,802 athletes from 78 countries will participate in this year's Winter Youth Olympics. Participating players are from the U-19 group.
