An elderly man died after a building collapsed in the city of Shika in Japan’s earthquake-hit Ishikawa Prefecture, local media Nippon Television Network reported on Monday.
Earlier, in Ishikawa’s Nanao city, two people suffered heart attacks after the quake, national news agency Kyodo reported, citing the National Police Agency.
On Monday afternoon, a powerful earthquake of 7.6 magnitude struck a wide area of the Sea of Japan coast in central Japan.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the earthquake hit at 4:10 PM.
