Kathmandu. The government has accepted the resignation of Purushottam Khanal from the post of Chairman of Nepal Telecommunication Authority. The Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to accept Khanal's resignation.
In addition, the meeting also decided to form a committee under the coordination of Ministry Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut to recommend the appointment of the vacant chairman post.
According to Rule 3 'A' of the Telecommunication Regulations, member of the Authority Board, Navraj Adhikari, has been designated as Acting Chairman until further arrangements are made for the vacant position.
Khanal submitted his resignation to Communications and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma on Tuesday morning.
